15 Feb 1901:	Promoted Australian and Colonial Military Forces - Boer War Contingents, Corporal, 4th Queensland Imperial Bushmen, AWM Boer War Nominal Roll, Murray p. 481 notes promoted to Corporal 15/02/1901 by C.-in-C. for distinguished gallantry in the field.
9 Jul 1901:	Honoured Mention in Dispatches, London Gazette No. 27331, 9 Jul 1901, p. 4556 notes Mentioned in Despatches by General Plumer 23 Mar 1901 for gallantry at Driekuilen, Cape Colony on 15 Feb 1901, single-handed took prisoners, three armed Boers and two Kaffirs.
