"PRIVATE D. M. ANDERSON.
Private. Dudley M. Anderson, who died in Egypt, from wounds received at the Dardanelles, was wounded in the shoulder on April 25, and subsequently removed to the Bombay Presidency General Hospital, San Stefano, Alexandria, where he died on May 31. "Dud," as he was known to everyone in Busselton, was born at Talbot (Vic), and was nearly 21 years of age, being brought to Busselton an infant. Entering the Busselton Post-office, he made rapid advancement, and, passing examinations in telegraphy with credit, was subsequently stationed at Wagin and Katanning. Later an opportunity offered to join the National Bank staff, and he was appointed to a position at Wickepin, from which he enlisted with the First Australian Contingent." - from the Perth Daily News 17 Jun 1915 (nla.gov.au)
