"Death of a Valued Naval Instructor.
Naval cadets will learn with regret of the death of their popular and esteemed instructor, Warrant-Officer Edward Mills. The deceased gentleman had been ailing for some time, and had been an inmate of a private hospital. Up till last Friday hope was held out of his ultimate recovery, but he took a turn for the worst on that day and was removed to his residence, Coolgardie Road, Largs, where he died on Thursday afternoon." - from the Port Adelaide News 28 Jan 1916 (nla.gov.au)
