Obituary
News has been received that Pte. J Barry, the second son of Mr. and Mrs. M Barry, of Gilles Street, Adelaide died on May 24 last from wounds received whilst fighting. He was educated at Christian Brothers' College, Adelaide, and at the age of 16 years went to a station of the late Mr. A Murrray's on the west coast. Prior to enlisting he was with a Government survey party in this State. His generous and kindly disposition made him admired by all who knew him. A younger brother, who is well-known in athletic circles, and who is attached to his late brother's battalion is now in the firing line. They enlisted and went away together in the 27th Battalion, but were transferred to another Battalion in Egypt.
