Biography

"...VX46238 Gunner Allen Godfrey Jones, 4 Anti Tank Regiment, taken on his return to Australia in 1946. Jones was captured on 4 April 1942, and held prisoner, first at the Changi Prisoner of War (POW) camp then at the Great World Camp, River Valley Road Camp, Fukuoka number 1 and number 17. He was released on 9 October 1945 and discharged on 15 March 1946, returning to his home town of Holbrook, NSW. Jones passed away in 1959 aged 40." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
