Ian was the second son of Elizabeth Isobel Armour Webster (nee Mackie) and Stanley Charles Webster. He was born in Melbourne but the family re-located to South Australia in late 1967.
Ian served in the Army for nearly 23 years and later worked in security and property management.
His older brother Robert also served in Vietnam.
