Son of Adam and Elizabeth JOHNSTON, Thanet Street, Ringwood, Victoria
He acted as driver in France also was in the retreat to Salonica and previously seriously wounded at Pozieres in August 1916 while rescuing a wounded comrade and sent to Folkenstone England when he recovered he returned to France and killed while guiding an American
