Son of Charles August and Mabel Gertrude HARDER of 'Roskear' 53 May Street, Coburg. Vic.
Sailed 3rd November 1916 to enlist in England. Enlisted there in 'D' Brigade, 50th Division, Royal Field Artillery on 10 January 1917. Qualified for Lieutenant in January 1917 and immediately went to the Front with the RFA. Twice wounded and once badly gassed. Mentioned in Sir Douglas Haig's despatches three times and would have received the DSO and MC had he survivied. Spoken very highly of by his CO, was the life and soul of his Battry, and perfomed many brave acts. Was killed in the Great German Offensive at MOunt Kemmeill on 25th April 1918.
