Extract from the Adelaide, SA paper the "Chronicle" dated 21 August 1920 (p.37):

DEATH FOLLOWS ACCIDENT.
Mr. George Staples, of Dudley-street,
Semaphore, who had his left hand crushed
by a pile-driving monkey at Messrs. Poole
and Steele's shipbuilding yards on August
6, died at the Adelaide Hospital on August
13.
