"...2452 Private Robert Allan Walker, 13th Battalion, of Liverpool, NSW (originally of Bright, Vic). Pte Walker enlisted on 12 April 1915 and embarked aboard HMAT Stropshire on 20 August 1915. On 14 October 1916 Signaller Walker was awarded a Military Medal for his actions on 29 and 30 August at Pozieres where he maintained communications while under heavy artillery fire. He returned to Australia on 8 April 1919 having served as a Sergeant with the 45th Battalion." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
