Trevor was well regarded in the community and his funeral service was attended by over 300 people.

I would like to thank you all for sharing memories with me about my father (Trevor Elemes). I would like to share with you all a little about dad.

Dad has left behind a beautiful wife named Myrene, 5 daughters and 3 sons :Raylene, Annette, myself, Dallas (dec), Lisa, Teletha, Trevor (jnr) & Martin, Dad also has 15 Grandchildren & 7 Great Grandchildren and loved by them all.

Dad was struggling with his health for many years, always during the winter months he would be very ill in and out of hospital.

Dad really enjoyed life he was a joker at times and loved his beloved Rugby League team ST George Dragons. He struggled when his beloved Dragons would be playing against his Grandson Tyrone Peachey he would sit on the fence until the end of the game.

I ask if you have any more Army pictures of Dad in Vietnam could you please share with me so I can share with my family members.

Kind Regards

Janine Elemes

Biography contributed by Virtual Australia

Trevor Elemes - RIP

Trevor Thomas Elemes, a National Serviceman served in 7 Platoon C Company during the 3rd Battalion Royal Australian Regiment’s second tour of duty in South Vietnam [1971].

After a short period as the platoon signaller he joined 3 Section commanded by Corporal Daryl “Dixie” Dicks.

Trevor was a good man with a wonderful cheeky grin and a quick answer for any half smart comment. He was liked and respected by all who knew or dealt with him and was soon appointed Lance Corporal as the second in command of “Dixie’s" 3 Section until we returned to Australia.

All members of the platoon offer the family our sincere condolences for their sad loss and say farewell brother, you will be alive and well in our heads until we all reach the final RV

Robert Kearney
