Keith was the eldest of four children of William Miller (born 1888 in Manchester, Lancashire) and Margaret Ann Castle (born in 1897 in Maryborough, QLD). William, a Motor Mechanic,  and Margaret married in 1917 in Teneriffe in QLD.

Keith was a Mechanic living in New Farm, Brisbane QLD when he enlisted in the RAAF as an Airman (Service No: 6706) in 1940 and served with 24, 455 and 460 Squadrons as a Flying Officer before taking his Discharge in 1945.

He married Nita Violet Watson in Brisbane, QLD in 1941 and the family continued to live in Brisbane where Keith worked as a Mechanic, Mechanical Engineer and Manager until his death in 1984
