Edward George Clay enlisted in the RAAF in June 1944 (WW2 service number 85044) and served until he passed away in June 1956 from carcinoma of the oesophagus at the Repatriation hospital situated in Hollywood, Perth, Western Australia (post 1948 service number A5280) - his casualty file commences with a non-related injury from February 1948
