Flying Officer Vance Drummond O33624 and Flying Officer Bruce Lachlan Thomson O32427 were shot down near Sunchon, North Korea on the 1st of December 1951 while flying Meteor A77-251 (Drummond) and Meteor A77-29 (Thomson) - they were two of the six pilots from 77 Squadron RAAF that were captured during the Korean War

They were held as Prisoners of War in North Korea until released in September 1953 after the armistice.  The other four were:
