Eric was the eldest of two sons of Percy William Bressington (born 1892 in Blayney, NSW) and Clara Gertrude Spence (born 1889 in Sydney, NSW). Eric was working as a Clerk when he married Maud Mary Smith (born 1917 in Newtown NSW) in 1940 in Marrickville, NSW).
Eric enlisted in the RAAF in 1943, serving as a Leading Aircraftma (Service No: 132806) with 20 Squadron. His brother Ernest enlisted in the RAAF in 1937, serving as a Flight Sergeant (Service No: 207626).
Eric returned to Earlwood, NSW and worked as an Accountant' He and Maud divorced in 1948 and Eric remarried widow Iris May Clark (nee Plummer born 1917 in Dubbo, NSW). Iris's husband Raymond George Clark had been killed in 1945 in Balikpapan, Indonesia.
Eric and Iris settled in St George, NSW where Eric worked as an Accountant until Iris' death in 1979.
In 1983 Eric married Beatrice (Rosie) Lyburn (nee Dowsett born in 1918 in Blayney, NSW), and they retired to Crow's Nest near Toowoomba on the Darling Downs in QLD. Eric died in 2005 ans Rosie in 2012
