Henry was the third of five children of Henry Greenberg Snr (born 1859 in Estonia) and Eliza Jane Holder (born 1879 at Millers Scrub in Grafton, NSW). Henry Snr was a Naval Academy graduate and arrived in Sydney, NSW in October 1887 on board the Port Darwin where he was a Fireman. Henry Snr and Eliza married in Dubbo, NSW in 1898. Henry Snr was a Miner.
Henry Jnr taught in schools in NSW and was in Ballina Nsw in 1939 when he married Mary Ellen Clifford (born 1930 in Beechwood, NSW). In September 1941 Henry enlisted in the Australian Army, serving as a Gunner (Service No: NX44126) with 2nd/6th Field Regiment. He was Discharged in August 1944. Brother Edward served in WWII (Driver; Service No: TX5998).
Following his Discharge, Henry returned to teaching in northern NSW (Murwillumbah, Tweed Heads) and died in 1971. Mary died in 2001.
