Robert was the third of four children of George Bickford Moysey (born 1874 in Tasmania) and Ruth (Jessie) Janet Hastedt (born 1882 in Tumut, NSW). George moved to Mount Morgan at Coolgardie, WA in 1900 and was a Gold Miner when he married Jessie in 1902. George was a keen sportsman, and played Australian Rules Football for Melbourne - one of six Melbourne players to play in all seventeen games in the inaugural season in 1897. In 1908 George and Jessie moved to Perth, where George played for Perth Football Club, which he also captained. He was selected for the WA team against the touring Marylebone Cricket club in 1907/08. In 1910 he almost drowned at Rottnest Island when the current carried him out to sea. George worked as a Clerk in Perth and Fremantle before returning to Victoria in the early 1920's. Jessie and the children remained in Western Australia, and George worked as a Salesman in Melbourne until his death in 1932.
Robert was living at Claremont in Fremantle, WA and working as a Storeman in 1933 when he married Gwendoline (Gwen) Davies Edwards (born 1909 at Yilgarn in WA) - Gwen was a Milliner in Fremantle when they met. Robert and Gwen moved to Kalamunda in WA where Robert worked as a Carrier before establishing himself as a Builder. In December 1942 Robert enlisted in the RAAF and served as a Leading Aircraftman (Service No:82673), attached to 17 Repair and Salvage Unit when he was Discharged in December 1944 (17 Repair and Salvage Unit was formed at RAAF Pearce in 1942 and then relocated to Cunderdin).
Robert and Gwen lived at Kalamunda in the Perth Hills, where Robert was a Builder. He died in 1967 and Gwen in 1988.
