Peter was the youngest child of Peter (Snr) Brady (born 1878 in Mollongghip, Victoria) and Hannorah Sicelia Duggan (born 1883 in Steiglitz, Victoria). Peter (a Labourer) married Hannorah in 1903 and they settled in Warrenheip before moving to Ballarat.

Peter worked as a Truck and Tractor Driver, and as a  Fitter's Assistant in Kinnabulla, Victoria and as a Tally Clerk in Bolinda in the Macedon Ranges in Victoria before moving to Western Australia. He married Kathleen Alice Brennan (born 1913 in Busselton, WA) in 1932 in Wellington, WA and was in Victoria in 1939 when his first application to enlist with the RAAF was rejected.

In May 1940 Peter and Kathleen were living in Perth, WA where Peter was working as a Clerk when he enlisted in the RAAF. He served as an Aircraftman and Leading Aircraftman (Service No:16412) at RAAF Base Lavertonand was a Corporal attached to 1 Personnel Depot when he was Discharged in September 1946.

Peter later worked as a Mechanic in Melbourne, and died in Perth, WA in 1995. Kathleen died in 1974.
