Advice has been received bv Mr. and Mrs. A. T. Farrow of Turnstall avenue, Kingsford, that their eldest son has been killed while on active service with the R.A.F. in France. The Air Ministry in Melbourne  has communicated a cable from London that Pilot-Officer Robert William Farrow, 26, was killed in an aircraft accident on Sunday, March 3. Pilot-Officer Farrow left for a short-service commission with the R.A.F. in August. 1938. Previously he was a member of the N.S.W. Scottish Reeiment (the Black Watch).
Born in Sydney, Pilot-Officer Farrow was educated at Canberra Church of England Grammar School. He was a keen all-round sportsman, and an exceptionally fine athlete and footballer. He represented  his school, and later the Randwick-Kensington Amateur Athletic Club. In 1935 he won the T. P. Carr Cup. He also played reserve grade football with the Randwick Rugby Union Club.
