Raymond Rodney PYNE was born 7/8/1944 in Babinda, North Queensland to John Ebenezer PYNE and Evelyn PYNE (nee Vardanega).
He was their second child and little brother to Francis PYNE.
He joined the army in July 1963 and served 20yrs and 1 month retiring from the army as WO1 in August 1983. He served in the army with pride in -

Posted to 6 Battalion as an original member when the Battalion was raised at Enoggera on 6 June 1965, as a Corporal.
6 Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment - 1965-76. He served in Vietnam with 6RAR 1966-67 and again 1969-70. He served in Townsville 1967-1970, and in Singapore 1970-1973.
Posted to Kelvin Grove Training Centre, Brisbane as WO2 - 1976-1980.

With his first wife Jessamine he fathered four girls - Debra, Karen, Teresa and Letica. Debra and Letica are both deceased (1963/1988 respectively).
From 1980, with his second wife Mavis, gained three more children - Stephen, Sandra and Claire. He served at HQ Canberra 1980-1983. He was married to Mavis at the time of his death in 2021. He died from illness related to his service.
