Biography

Son of Andrew and Emma Bishop and brother of  Lieutenant Stanley Charles Bishop MM, 50th Battalion who returned to Australia on 1 March 1919.

"THE LATE PRIVATE C. BISHOP.

Mr. and Mrs. A. Bishop, of Hanson, have been notified that their third son, Private Clarence Bishop, was killed in action in France on August 16. Private Bishop was 23 years of age. He enlisted in June, 1915, and left for the front in September. He was highly respected. Much sympathy will be felt for his parents, who have two other sons at the front. Privite Hedley Bishop was wounded on the same day as his brother was killed." - from the Adelaide Chronicle 30 Sep 1916 (nla.gov.au)
