Sapper BREALLY ADAMS, killed in action in France, on October 13, was the seventh son of Mr. and Mrs. John Adams, of Cockatoo Valley. He was born at Barossa goldfields 42 years ago, and was educated at the Barossa public school. He spent many years working in the Broken Hill mines, and from there he went to Western Australia, where he enlisted, and sailed for England in November, 1916. He left for France on February 22, and there made the supreme sacrifice. Sapper Adams left a widow and five children in Western Australia.

He married Ellen Elizabeth VILLIAS / VILLIS in Broken Hill, New South Wales in 1899 - two known children, Ellen Margaret born 1904 in Western Australia & Hazel Dorothy born 1901 in South Australia
He enlisted in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia on 2nd May, 1916 & embarked from Fremantle on 30th October, 1916 with the 5th Pioneer Battalion on the HMAT Port Melbourne
He was Killed in Action in Belgium on 12th October, 1917 - no known grave
