I served with "Bud" Abbott
I served with 1 Field Squadron RAE in Borneo 16/12/1964 - 14/06/1965
I am fairly confident that a "Bud Abbott served there at the same time.
I definitely served with "Bud" in Casula out of Liverpool in NSW prior to going overseas.
I do not know if this is the same Abbott. We rarely Knew real names as nick names always sufficed. I know very few people I served with knew my name was Eugene, I was always known as Nugget.
As I cannot be sure this is the Abbott I know, it might not be appropriate to continue.
Rest in Peace Sapper.
