Died on this date – 10th February.... Albert Morgan was born at Ballarat, Victoria in 1886. He enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force (A.I.F.) on 27th September, 1916 as a 30 year old, single, Carpenter from Ballarat.
Private Albert Morgan was transferred to Australian Flying Corps on 4th January, 1917.
Air Mechanic 2nd Class Albert Morgan embarked from Melbourne on RMS Omrah on 17th January, 1917 with the Australian Flying Corps, No. 4 Squadron, 2nd Reinforcements & disembarked at Devonport, England on 27th March, 1917.
He was posted to A.F.C. Depot at Perham Downs, Wiltshire on 27th March, 1917 then was on command at School of Technical Training at Reading, Berkshire from 27th April, 1917.
Air Mechanic 2nd Class Albert Morgan was marched in to 29th Training Squadron at Shawbury on 20th June, 1917 from School of Instruction at Reading. He was marched out to Tern Hill – 29th Wing the same day. He was appointed Air Mechanic 1st Class on 27th August, 1917 with 5th Training Squadron, A.F.C.
Air Mechanic 1st Class Albert Morgan was appointed Acting Corporal on 28th September, 1917 with 5th Training Squadron, A.F.C.
Acting Corporal Albert Morgan was admitted to Military Hospital, Prees Heath, Salop on 2nd October, 1917. He was marched in from Hospital to 29th Training Squadron at Shawbury on 24th October, 1917.
Acting Corporal Albert Morgan was promoted to Corporal on 1st December, 1917 with 5th Training Squadron, A.F.C.
Corporal Albert Morgan was sent sick to Military Hospital, Prees Heath on 23rd December, 1917 suffering from Gastritis. He was marched in from Hospital to 5th Training Squadron on 14th January, 1918.
Corporal Albert Morgan died on morning of 10th February, 1918 from a perforated Duodenal Ulcer. He was brought to Military Hospital, Prees Heath already deceased. He was buried in Christ Church Churchyard Extension, Tilstock, Shropshire, England where 3 other Australian WW1 War Graves are located.
