Thomas John Montgomery ARMSTRONG was born in Berry, NSW in 1894
His parents were Thomas Henry ARMSTRONG and Julia Elizabeth Barnes HUKINS who married in 1889 in Victoria
He was living at Skinners Creek, Nashur when he enlisted in Lismore on 24th September, 1915 - he embarked on the HMAT Itonus on 30th December, 1915 from Brisbane with the 26th Infantry Battalion - 7th re-inforcements
Thomas was Killed in Action on 18th April, 1918 in France & is buried in the Borre British Cemetery in France
His name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial & he was awarded the British War Medal & the Victory Medal
