Birth name was registered as Harry Norman Brookman

Son of George Brookman and Eliza Martha Brookman nee Marshall of 'Burbrook', Willunga, SA. Brother of Howard Brookman,  Alice May Brookman and George Wilson Brookman

On 6 March 1912 Norman married Ada Mary Dorothy Burden in the Church of Epiphany, Crafers, SA. Father of Anthony Brookman, Nigel Peter Brookman and Elizabeth Charmaine Brooman

At the time of his enlistment his enlistment Ada was living at the 'Ruthven Mansions', Pultney Street, Adelaide, SA

Place of residence at the time of death was Meadows, SA

Returned to Australia on 28 April 1919  on board Ventura having served with the Field Artillery. He travelled home via America at his own expense.
