War Service/Promotions:   Proceeded to join British Expeditionary Force at Alexandria, Egypt, on 26 March 1916, disembarked at Marseilles, France, 4 April 1916. On leave to England from Wimereux, France on 30 October 1916, rejoining from leave on 8 November 1916. Admitted to No 14 Stationary Hospital, Wimereux, on 21 November 1916, with mumps. Discharged to unit on 9 December 1916, Boulogne, France. Transferred to 11th Australian Field Ambulance, Wimereux, on 8 April 1917, and Taken on Strength the same day. Transferred to Aust. Corps Signalling Company on 25 March 1918, as Sapper from 11th Australian Field Ambulance. To Paris, France, on leave 13 September 1918, rejoining unit on 23 September 1918. Then to England on leave on 14 October 1918, rejoining from leave on 31 October 1918.

Fate:   Returned to Australia per HT Sardinia, 19 April 1919, disembarking 11 June 1919. He was discharged from the A.I.F. on 6 August 1919. He married Ada May Higgins, 30 July 1921, New Farm, Qld.
