Herbert Walter Sorrell
Herbert Walter was born in 1894 in Port Adelaide, South Australia. He enrolled for the war on June the 29th 1915 at the age of 20 years and 8 months. Before he joined the 6th Field Artillery Brigade, he worked as a butcher. John served with the 6th Field Artillery Brigade thoruhgout the war, serving on the Western Front from June 1916 until the end of the war. He got married to Ethel May Wilkins on the 30th of August 1919. He came back to Australia on the 7th of November 1919. He is buried in the West Terrace Cemetery.
