Arthur Garfield Tucker BATE was born in Bathurst, NSW in 1891

His parents were William BATE & Annie DRAYDON

He attended Primary School in Sydney and later went to America and got a degree in Engineering from the Santa Clara University, USA

He enlisted in Sydney on 4th September, 1916 & embarked with the Australian Flying Corps, 4 Squadron from Melbourne on the RMS Omron on 17th January, 1917

He returned to Australia on 1st November, 1919 and was discharged on 30th October, 1920 with the last rank of Lieutenant

Arthur died on 25th May, 1951 in Brisbane General Hospital, Queensland after suffering illness while driving - he was cremated at the Mount Thompson Crematorium
