Albert Edward Hounslow PURCELL was born on 8th March, 1887 in Port Adelaide, South Australia

His parents were John PURCELL and Fanny HOUNSLOW

He enlisted in Perth, WA on 7th April, 1916 for WW1 and embarked as a Private from Fremantle, WA on board HMAT Suffolk on 10th October,1916 with the 51st Infantry Battalion, 6th Reinforcements

Albert was Killed in Action on 2nd April, 1917 - no known grave

His name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial, the State War Memorial in Mount Eliza in Western Australia and Villers Bretonneux Memorial

He was awarded the British War Medal and the Victory Medal.
