"The Great War

Mr John Allan, Davies Street, has been advised that his nephew, Private John Percival (Percy) Allan, was killed in action in France on the 4th October, 1917. Deceased was a son of Joseph P. Allan, formerly of Holilmans Ltd., but now of Gympie. He was 20 years of age, and was a native of Charters Towers." from the Townsville Bulletin 29 Oct 1917 (nla.gov.au)
