Prior to arriving in Australian he served an apprenticeship with Wolverton Joiners Limited in Buckinghamshire
From 1905-1910 he also served with the Buckinghamshire Territorial Volunteers
Biography
78 Dvr (later Pte) Arthur James Adams, 3rd (later 13th) Field Ambulance, of Brisbane, Qld, son of G Adams, Wolverton, Buckinghamshire, England. A joiner prior to enlisting, he embarked from Brisbane aboard HMAT Rangatira (A22) on 22 September 1914. He died at the 13th Field Ambulance Hospital, France on 9 August 1916, from wounds received in action, aged 28. He is buried in the Warloy-Baillon Communal Cemetery Extension, France." -SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
