The most highly decorated Australian unit in the Vietnam conflict with a total of four Victoria Crosses, two Distinguished Service Orders and numerous other bravery awards, The Australian Army Training Team Vietnam was raised in 1962 as direct result of experience in the Malayan Emergency from 1948-52, to perform an advisory function with South Vietnamese forces when Australia first committed to the war in Vietnam.
