Medal Set of Major A Steele (left to right): Distinguished Conduct Medal, 1914/15 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal (without oak leaf cluster which symbolises MID.) (The Distinguished Service Order is also part of the medal set as per other image.) The fact that Major Steele was awarded both a Distinguished Conduct Medal and a Distinguished Service Order makes his medal set rare as this combination was very rarely achieved by troops in the AIF.

Arthur Bruce Durdin, MC and on the right is Major Karl Friederichs. Captain Durdin survived the war but Karl Friedrichs was killed in action by shellfire on 21 April near Dernancourt, France during defensive operations against the German Spring Offensive.

John Jackson and his brother Les photographed at the Alexandria Zoo while serving in the Middle East prior to returning to Australia to join No. 75 Squadron. Both men would command the unit with Les succeeding his older brother after he was killed in action.

WW1 - Commemorative Medallion, known colloquially as the "Dead Man's Penny", presented to families of the Fallen together with a scroll signed by King George V. Over one million minted.

During World War II, the airfield at Deniliquin was primarily a training base. From June 1941 until August 1944, 2206 pilots graduated from No 7 Service Flying Training School. As the end of the war neared, a number of operational units were moved to the base to be disbanded.

Nine members of 5 Platoon, B Company, 6RAR. By the end of Operation Bribie three of these young men were dead and five had been wounded. Only one emerged from the battle unscathed. Image courtesy of J. O'Halloran. [AWM P02452.002]

DOUGLAS DFC WAS CITED 1943-01 AS "A MOST DETERMINED AND SUCCESSFUL CAPTAIN OF AIRCRAFT WHOSE QUIET CONFIDENCE AND KEEN SPIRIT HAVE BEEN AN INSPIRATION TO ALL."

Commemorative Medallion issued to the families of the Fallen - aka "The Dead Man's Penny"

A 9.2 inch Howitzer of the 36th Siege Artillery Group. The 9.2s were later designated as the 55th Siege Artillery Battery. These were the biggest heaviest guns ever operated by the Royal Australian Artillery. They fired a 130kg shell 9km. The gun weighed over five tons and were clearly not mobile. The gunners are wearing gas masks in anticipation of a gas attack.

This is a slightly damaged photo of ANZAC Beach, Gallipoli, 1915. The beach has soldiers and supplies arriving by boat.

Following the success of Le Hamel on 4 July, and the August offensive 8-11 August, King George V, who had been one of Monash's advocates, visited the Australian Corps Headquarters at Chateau Bertangles on 12 August. A display of some of the captured war material was on display along with a large turnout of troops.
