Four unidentified members of the 3rd Australian Light Horse Brigade machine gun squadron in action at Khurbetha-Ibn in Palestine. The man second from left and slightly forward of the gun is using an optical range finder to give range data to the No. 1 on the gun to apply to his sights to get correct elevation. The No. 2 on the right serves ammunition to the gun; he appears to be wearing a New Zealand 'lemon squeezer' service hat. Three brothers, Private Theo Leslie Seabrook (left), 2 Lieutenant William Keith Seabrook (centre) and Private George Ross Seabrook (right) of Fivedock, New South Wales, Australia were all serving with 17 Battalion, Australian Infantry when they were killed together at Polygon Wood in the Ypres Salient on 20 - 21 September 1917. At the time of their deaths, George was aged 25, Theo was aged 24 and William was aged 21. Theo and George are commemorated on the Menin Gate at Ypres while William is buried at Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery.

Richmond Baker's Pilots Course at Queen's College, Oxford University probably in April 1918. Bert Packer is second from the left front row and two places further right is Thomas Richmond Charles Baker who went on to become an Ace with No. 4 Squadron. Students all wear white hat bands. The Supervising staff are the three men centre front of the image. Men wearing peaked caps are already commissioned officer students whereas those in 'fore and aft' caps are Other Rank trainees who would be commissioned on graduation.

These men embarked for service overseas with the 8th Field Artillery Brigade aboard HMAT Medic (A7) on 20 May 1916 (Gnrs McPherson, Whiting and Ball from Sydney and Gnrs McKenzie and Simmonds from Melbourne). Gnr Mason, a printer from Corrowa, NSW, prior to enlistment, died of wounds in Belgium on 27 September 1917, aged 22. The other five men survived the war.

A29-113, on which are painted as `nose art' the US, Australian, and RAAF flags. In this aircraft Sqn Ldr Cresswell shot down a Japanese Mitisubishi G4M medium bomber aircraft, code-name Betty, on 23 November 1942.

FSgt George Hale, 77 Squadron, and his aircraft "Halestorm", one of very few Meteor pilots to get the better of the Mig 15s over Korea. The effect of the muzzle blast from the two 20mm cannon mounted either side of the nose is clearly evident.

A colourised version of a photograph taken in the same sequence as. It shows two key colour schemes applied to RAAF Hudsons immediately prior to and during the early stages of WW2. A16-3 is painted matt black underneath, the others a sky blue. A16-38 is painted foliage green on the upper surfaces, the other two have a disruptive pattern with dark earth applied.

NX30482 Gunner Henry "Dick" Hulin, 2nd / 4th Field Regiment 2nd AIF

Enlisting in the RAAF in June 1942, Flt Sgt Allan BOCK trained as a Navigator under the Empire Air Training Scheme (EATS) in Canada and England, and was posted to 625 Squadron RAF operating Lancaster bombers. On the night of 12/13 August 1944, Flt Sgt BOCK's Lancaster, serial number ME733, radio call sign CF-Z, was shot down and crashed at Hollenstein, Germany after an operational sortie over Brunswick. He was killed alongside six other crew members, aged 22.
